World No. 550 Julieta Pareja has emerged as the youngest quarterfinalist on the WTA tour since 2021.
Competing in Bogota, the 16-year-old American talent successfully navigated the qualifying rounds. In the main draw, she secured victories over wild card entry Maria Jose Sanchez Uribe and lucky loser Patricia Maria Tig. Her next challenge is against Leolia Jeanjean.
Notably, four years ago, 15-year-old Linda Fruhvirtova reached the same stage at the Charleston tournament, eventually losing to Astra Sharma.
