The previous race in Miami saw Oscar Piastri secure his third consecutive win, extending his championship lead over teammate Lando Norris, who finished second and trails by 16 points.
Max Verstappen is now 32 points behind Piastri following a challenging Sprint weekend in Miami. Red Bull, along with many other teams, is expected to introduce car upgrades at Imola, aiming to close the gap to McLaren.

The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix takes place at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, widely regarded as one of Formula 1`s most iconic and challenging circuits. Its `old-school` characteristics, including grass and gravel traps, demand precision from drivers.
Imola rejoined the F1 calendar in 2020 after a 14-year break, utilizing an updated track configuration that is still used.
Qualifying performance is particularly crucial here due to the circuit`s narrow and fast-flowing design, with only one DRS zone available on the main straight.
