World No. 34 Alex Michelsen commented on the all-American quarterfinal lineup at the ATP tournament, a feat not seen in 34 years.
This week in Houston marked the first time since April 1991 in Orlando that an ATP quarterfinal draw featured only American players.
“It`s really cool. We have a lot of great guys in the Top 100 now – 12 or 13 players. So American tennis is very strong. I hope one of us will eventually win a Grand Slam. It`s been a long time since that happened, but at least we have eight quarterfinalists at a 250 event,” Michelsen smiled in an on-court interview after his victory over Adrian Mannarino.
