Alexander Kalivod: No Clear Successors for Russian Tennis Leaders Yet

Renowned coach and commentator Alexander Kalivod believes that there are currently no tennis players visible who could replace the current Russian leaders – Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Karen Khachanov.

According to Kalivod, “There`s no one visible yet who could play at the level of our leaders. Roman Safiullin is currently showing uncertain form, and Pavel Kotov has certain weight issues that prevent him from achieving high results. There are some decent guys among the juniors, but it`s too early to talk about them.” He also added that it`s currently difficult to observe how many young players train and manage their daily lives.
