World No. 2 German tennis player Alexander Zverev stated that he needs to win several matches to regain his confidence on the court.
“Winning matches is crucial for gaining confidence and getting into the right mindset. I definitely need to win a few matches and demonstrate good tennis. Things can change very quickly. In Miami, I felt like I was playing better than before, but then I got a neck injury, which was a bit unfortunate for me, so I was somewhat limited. But even after winning that match, things can change rapidly.”
“In the quarterfinals, I would have played against Jakub Mensik. He certainly won the tournament, but perhaps if I had regained my confidence, I would have been the favorite in all of those matches. Everything can happen quickly, and I hope it will happen in the next few weeks,” Zverev said, according to the official ATP website.
At the Miami Masters, Zverev lost in the fourth round to Arthur Fils with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 4-6.
