Andrey Olkhovsky on Medvedev and Rublev Dropping Out of Top 10

Andrey Olkhovsky, a two-time Grand Slam champion in mixed doubles, shared his thoughts on the recent development where no Russian players will be featured in the ATP Top 10 ranking following the Madrid Masters tournament. This situation marks the first time since June 2019 that the elite group of ten players will not include a Russian representative.

Currently ranked eighth and tenth respectively, Andrey Rublev and Daniil Medvedev are set to exit the top echelon of the ATP rankings this coming Monday.

According to Olkhovsky, the current state of affairs is “quite fixable.” He commented, “Daniil Medvedev is not far behind, and just one or two strong tournament performances could already bring him back into the top ten. Andrey Rublev was unable to defend his most significant title from the previous year, so he needs to start accumulating victories again. I believe that in the foreseeable future, at least one of them will return to the top ten.”
