Andrey Rublev, the world No. 8, has shared his thoughts on defending his Madrid Masters title. The Russian tennis player is realistic about his chances and doesn`t consider himself a favorite this year.
“I`ve never managed to win a tournament twice where I`ve already been victorious. So, I think my chances of success are slim. It often happens that after winning a particular tournament, I get knocked out in the first round the following season.”
“As for my current condition, I feel fine. We`ll see how the matches unfold,” Rublev said, as quoted by the Madrid tournament press service.
