Aryna Sabalenka Reaches 10,000 WTA Ranking Points Milestone

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus has surpassed 10,000 WTA ranking points, reaching a total of 10,191 points at the Miami Open WTA 1000 tournament.

This significant achievement comes after her convincing semi-final victory against Italian player Jasmine Paolini, where she won with a score of 6-2, 6-2.

Sabalenka now becomes the eighth female tennis player since 2009, the year the modern ranking system was introduced, to break through the 10,000-point barrier. The other seven players who have reached this milestone are Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka, Dinara Safina, Caroline Wozniacki, Ashleigh Barty, and Iga Swiatek.

In the final match, 26-year-old Sabalenka will compete for the title against the winner of the match between American player Jessica Pegula and Alexandra Eala from the Philippines. Their match is scheduled to take place on the night of March 27th to 28th.
