Former world number one Boris Becker shared his opinion on whether this year`s Roland Garros might have been the last of Novak Djokovic`s career.
“When I think about it, I get goosebumps again – just like on that evening,” Becker said. “It was bound to happen sooner or later. He`s 38 years old, and his season so far has been average. A semifinal in Melbourne is a great result, a final in Miami is magnificent. But on clay, apart from Geneva, he hasn`t achieved his goals. And he has to ask himself: if he`s not winning as much anymore, why continue?”
“His goal is to win 25 Grand Slam titles, he`s aiming for that. I think he`s still good on grass. It`s easier for him to perform there than on clay. And given what he showed recently (last week), why not? But what about a year from now… Who knows if we`ll see him at Roland Garros again?”
