Ben Shelton Reaches Munich Open Final, Faces Zverev

World No. 15 Ben Shelton shared his emotions after reaching the final of the Munich tournament. In the semifinal match, the American defeated Argentina`s Francisco Cerúndolo with a score of 2/6, 7/6(7), 6/4.

“I`m enjoying every moment on court and having a lot of fun playing. I`ve played against very strong opponents on clay and learned a lot from them. Right now, I don`t feel a lot of pressure; my focus is completely on this tournament. Perhaps I lacked this calmness last week in Monte Carlo. Clay is a difficult surface: the chances of losing your serve are higher here, but at the same time, breaking your opponent`s serve becomes slightly easier. The ability to adapt to changing conditions and overcome difficulties helps me show my best tennis on clay courts. My goal is to keep improving every day,” Shelton commented in an on-court interview after the match.

In the decisive match for the title, Shelton will face Alexander Zverev. In their previous head-to-head meeting, the German won, making the head-to-head record 0:1 in favor of Zverev.
