World No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz believes that Novak Djokovic is capable of participating in the next Summer Olympic Games, which will be held in 2028 in Los Angeles.
During a press conference in Rome, Alcaraz was asked about Djokovic`s potential participation in the upcoming Olympics, especially after Alcaraz himself mentioned in his documentary series that defeat at the Olympics was one of the toughest moments in his career.
“Novak has the body of a 25-year-old. It`s incredible how he maintains such a level on court. Yes, there are difficulties with his game sometimes; he himself said his level sometimes drops. But he is in excellent physical shape,” Alcaraz stated.
“Everything depends on him. If Novak gets excited about the idea of competing in the next Olympics, he will surely do it. He`s a maniac in a good way: he takes care of his body, of everything, to be 100% fit. If he has a goal, he will achieve it.”
Alcaraz added, “I will only be happy to see him on court in the coming years, sharing great moments at different tournaments. If that happens, I will truly be happy.”
