Carlos Alcaraz on Reaching Barcelona Final: ‘This Week Has Been Fun’

World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz shared his emotions after reaching the final of the Barcelona tournament. In the semi-finals, the Spaniard defeated French player Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-4.

This marks the third time in the last four seasons that the 21-year-old Spaniard has reached the final in Barcelona.

`It`s an incredible feeling for me. As a child, I watched the final of this tournament every Sunday. I`ve already played here in the final twice, and to be in it again means a lot. I am playing in front of my fans, my friends from Murcia, the people of Barcelona and all of Spain. This week has been fun and unforgettable. Let`s see if we can finish the tournament with a trophy tomorrow. It won`t be easy,` Alcaraz said in an on-court interview.

In the final, Alcaraz will play against Danish player Holger Rune, against whom he has a 2-1 head-to-head record.
