World No. 15 Casper Ruud commented on the possibility of winning his first Masters title in Madrid.
“Strange things happen in tennis. Last year I reached the final in Monte Carlo after playing excellent tennis for months, and now I`m in the final here, despite not showing a good level for a long time. It would be ironic if I became the champion,” Ruud said at a press conference.
He added, “I don`t think much has changed this week compared to the past few months. Maybe it`s just luck. I`ll give everything I have for the win, but if it doesn`t happen, life goes on. I`ll still be the same person regardless.”
