Chase DeMoor successfully defended his heavyweight title, though the fight proved challenging.
The title defense took place on Friday against Tanner Tolman at Misfits Boxing 21 in Derby, England. While DeMoor ultimately secured a knockout victory, he had to overcome significant adversity during the bout.
Despite being the clear betting favorite against Tolman, who was making his debut under the Misfits banner, DeMoor faced serious danger early in the second round. Tolman landed a powerful right hand that sent DeMoor to the canvas, marking the first knockdown of his career.
DeMoor managed to beat the referee`s count and spent the subsequent minutes recovering. Tolman attempted to press his advantage, but his aggressive approach ultimately backfired. DeMoor was able to turn the tables, landing a counter that dropped Tolman near the end of the round.
Tolman also beat the count and survived to the end of the round, but the momentum had clearly shifted away from “Tank.” Although Tolman showed resilience by coming out aggressively in the third round, this proved detrimental. DeMoor landed a series of hard right hands to Tolman`s head, forcing a stop to the contest just over a minute into the third round.
