Eubank attempted to corner Benn but was pushed back. They traded jabs and Benn landed a glancing right. The round also saw an awkward clinch resulting in a fall. Round 4
Eubank displayed good defense early. Benn sought openings. Eubank landed a three-punch combination, followed by a left hook, body shot, jab, and another left hook, building momentum. Eubank dominated the offense for much of the round with hard jabs and a strong right hand, limiting Benn`s attack. However, Benn finished with a flurry, putting Eubank on the defensive before Eubank returned to his jab.
Round 8
Benn aggressively threw 1-2 combinations, many missing, but landed a sharp right hand. Eubank uncharacteristically chased Benn, allowing Benn to land counters. The round devolved into a trading session. Eubank seemed to sense a finish, mixing shots to the head and body against Benn, who had little head movement. Benn landed desperate power shots, including a right hand, a right uppercut, and another close-range right, turning the round into a dogfight, which Benn arguably took.
Round 9
Eubank had to be cautious early as Benn landed two clean punches when Eubank advanced, followed by another 1-2. Eubank responded with a left hook and Benn ripped the body. Eubank leaned on Benn, engaging in dirty boxing, before the referee separated them. Benn landed to the body again. Eubank landed a right, Benn a left. Round 11
The penultimate round began with a good 1-2 from Eubank. Benn targeted the body as Eubank advanced. Both fighters showed signs of fatigue but continued trading. Eubank landed a beautiful counter right and used two jabs to push Benn back, followed by another right hand. They exchanged body shots in close. Eubank then unleashed a flurry, clearly taking control of the round and pinning Benn against the ropes. The trading continued in sequences, described as almost “my turn, your turn,” providing exciting action.
Round 12
Eubank immediately applied pressure, aiming to prevent any late comeback from Benn, throwing punches in bunches while Benn actively moved his head.
