World number three Coco Gauff reflected on her recent performance, specifically mentioning her consecutive defeats in two major finals. In Madrid, she lost to Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 3/6, 6/7(3), and in Rome, she was defeated by Jasmine Paolini with a score of 4/6, 2/6.
Gauff expressed her feelings about these results in a video for the WTA. She said, “Of course, I am very upset about these results. But overall, I am approaching Roland Garros with great confidence. I hope to reach the final and win there.” She added, “I think I heard Medvedev say that it`s better to lose in the final than in the first round.”
