At UFC 314, Colby Covington interrupted Paddy Pimblett`s post-fight interview to voice his criticism.
Pimblett, fresh off a significant victory against Michael Chandler in the co-main event in Miami, was celebrating his third-round knockout when Covington confronted him.
Covington suddenly appeared during Pimblett`s backstage interview and began to berate him, questioning the caliber of fighters Pimblett has faced in the UFC.
In a video capturing the exchange, Covington is heard saying, “You’re fighting weak opponents. Guys with poor records. You’re a nobody. You beat fighters who are not good, remember that. You’re a fake.”
Pimblett retorted by pointing out Covington’s recent losses, mentioning his “three-fight losing streak.”
While Covington is actually on a two-fight losing streak and has won only once in his last four fights since March 2022 against Jorge Masvidal, Pimblett is now aiming for the lightweight championship. Following his win against Chandler, Pimblett called out top-ranked lightweights Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and Charles Oliveira.
