Dan Hooker Shares Update on Hand Surgery Recovery

Dan Hooker is on his way to recovery after undergoing hand surgery and having stitches removed.

This Monday, the UFC veteran in the lightweight division updated his social media with news about the hand surgery he recently had. This surgery addressed an injury that unfortunately caused him to withdraw from his anticipated fight at UFC 313 against Justin Gaethje.

Hooker had previously posted images of his hand following the surgery. Now, it seems he has progressed to the point where the stitches could be taken out, allowing his hand to continue healing. The video concludes with a view of Hooker`s hand, which appears to be recovering well.

Currently, there is no set date for Hooker`s return to fighting, and it`s also uncertain if matchmakers still plan for him to face Gaethje. In UFC 313, Gaethje instead fought Rafael Fiziev, who stepped in at short notice for a rematch. Gaethje won by unanimous decision, and both fighters were awarded a $50,000 bonus for “Fight of the Night.”

Hooker is likely very motivated to return to competition as soon as possible. He is currently enjoying his first three-fight winning streak since 2020. His most recent fight was this past August at UFC 305, where he secured a victory by split decision against top contender Mateusz Gamrot.
