Dana White Shares Gruesome Images of Melquizael Costa’s Injured Toe After UFC Vegas 106 Win

Melquizael Costa`s recent decision victory over Julian Erosa appears even more remarkable considering the circumstances surrounding it.

At UFC Vegas 106, held this past Saturday at the UFC APEX, featherweight Melquizael Costa secured his third win of 2025 in the main card opener. The 28-year-old fighter extended his winning streak to four consecutive victories, but the win came at a significant physical cost.

Following the event, UFC CEO Dana White posted a video on his Instagram stories revealing a severe and unpleasant gash on Costa`s toe. What initially looked like a simple cut was shown to be much deeper, as the footage displayed someone gently peeling back the skin around the wound, exposing the underlying tissue.

Dana White later shared still images derived from the video, further highlighting the extent of the damage.

Fortunately, White also provided an update indicating that the significant wound on Costa`s toe received stitches to close it properly.

Melquizael Costa is quickly establishing himself as a promising contender in the featherweight division, which is widely considered one of the UFC`s deepest weight classes. He has achieved an impressive three victories within a short 85-day span. Before his hard-fought win against Erosa, Costa secured a decision victory over Christian Rodriguez at UFC Mexico and notched back-to-back submission wins against seasoned UFC veteran Andre Fili and Shayilan Nuerdanbieke.

Costa currently holds an official Octagon record of 5 wins and 2 losses. His only two defeats under the UFC banner were against Steve Garcia and Thiago Moises; the bout against Moises notably occurred during Costa`s short-notice promotional debut.
