Darren Cahill, coach of world number one Jannik Sinner, commented on the Italian player`s remarkable 19-match winning streak at Grand Slam tournaments.
“Jannik has won 19 consecutive matches at the Slams, and every single victory moves him closer to claiming a major title. While physical fatigue can sometimes stem from mental exhaustion, Jannik handles this exceptionally well. His style of play is also extremely physically demanding; three hours of Sinner`s tennis is comparable to five hours for many other players.”
Cahill also shared his perspective on the significant improvements seen in the game of world number seven Lorenzo Musetti, a player Sinner could potentially face in the Roland Garros final.
“His improvements don`t surprise me at all. If you had asked me about Lorenzo five years ago, I would have confidently stated that he possesses extremely high potential. Today, we are witnessing a more mature, well-rounded, and fully realized Lorenzo. He`s the player we`ve anticipated for a long time, and he still has his entire career ahead of him. I expect many more memorable moments from him. And yes, without question, he has the capability to win a Grand Slam title.”
