The main event of OKTAGON 69, featuring Max Holzer and Deniz Ilbay, became memorable for entirely unexpected reasons.
After a brutal three-round battle, Holzer secured victory in the fourth round, submitting Ilbay with a rear-naked choke at 4:14 of the championship round. The fight took place on Saturday at Westfalenhalle in Dortmund, Germany.
Following the submission, Holzer engaged in trash talk towards Ilbay. However, it was Holzer`s disrespectful celebration that triggered an explosive reaction from Ilbay. In a moment of fury, Ilbay chased Holzer and knocked him out of the cage. Despite the fall, Holzer was unharmed and continued his celebration from the floor.
