Heavyweight veteran Derrick Lewis is scheduled to face undefeated prospect Tallison Teixeira in the main event of UFC Nashville on July 12. The bout was recently confirmed by sources.
Lewis, 40 years old with a record of 28-12 (1 NC), is set for his 30th Octagon appearance. This fight marks his return after over a year of inactivity. His last outing was in May 2024 at UFC St. Louis, where he knocked out Rodrigo Nascimento in the third round. However, this win was only his second in his last six bouts.
On the other side, the 25-year-old Tallison Teixeira brings a perfect 8-0 professional record. The towering 6-foot-7 fighter earned his spot in the UFC through Dana White’s Contender Series and made an impressive debut in February, stopping Justin Tafa with strikes in just 35 seconds, maintaining a 100% finishing rate.
UFC Nashville represents the promotion`s comeback to the Tennessee capital. The last time the UFC visited Nashville was in August 2023, an event headlined by Cory Sandhagen`s unanimous decision victory against Rob Font.
