World No. 11 Diana Shnaider commented on her crushing 6-0, 6-0 victory over Caroline Dolehide in the second round of the Rome tournament.
Reporter: In Madrid, you “baked” two “bagels” for Dinara Safina on her birthday. Who did you “prepare” them for here?
Diana Shnaider: Here, they are for my mom and brother, who are with me. So now, I “baked” the “bagels” for them.
Reporter: We were just talking with Mirra Andreeva about her coach, Conchita Martinez, winning here in Rome four times in a row. That`s an incredible record that no one else has repeated in the tournament`s 95-year history.
Diana Shnaider: And she played in the final the fifth year too. I saw that.
Reporter: Your coach, Dinara Safina, also won here. Did she tell you anything about this tournament? Maybe she gave you some specific advice?
Diana Shnaider: No, she didn`t tell me anything specific like that. We haven`t talked about specific tournaments, but I know she won here – that`s really great. After all, it`s a `Master`s`. Winning such tournaments is a huge achievement. However, I think a lot could have changed about this tournament since then. We`ll see.
