Keeping his word, Joe Rogan will not be part of the broadcast team for UFC 315 taking place in Montreal, Canada. The full lineup for the upcoming pay-per-view event has been revealed, confirming Rogan`s absence from the commentator booth.
Filling Rogan`s spot, former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz joins veteran play-by-play commentator Jon Anik and UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier in calling the fights. This trio will be the primary voices for the event.
Rogan had previously stated he would not travel to Canada for fights, expressing a preference for going to Russia instead. He doubled down on this stance in a recent podcast episode when addressing the possibility of attending UFC 315.
His reasons appear related to political disagreements regarding Canada, mentioning a past conversation with President Donald Trump. Rogan recounted Trump joking about annexing Canada and turning it into the 51st U.S. state.
Cruz`s inclusion comes as UFC 315 features a welterweight title defense between champion Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena in the main event. The co-main event sees Valentina Shevchenko defending her women`s flyweight title against French challenger Manon Fiorot.
Rounding out the broadcast team in Montreal is Brendan Fitzgerald, who is set to serve as the on-site reporter throughout the card.
UFC 315 is scheduled to take place on May 10th from Montreal.
