Erin Blanchfield paid full salary after Maycee Barber unable to compete in UFC Vegas 107 main event

Erin Blanchfield didn`t get to fight and win at UFC Vegas 107, but she will still receive her expected payment.

The planned five-round main event at UFC Vegas 107 featuring New Jersey`s Erin Blanchfield was cancelled moments before it was set to begin, as her opponent, Maycee Barber, was not medically cleared to compete. Although disappointing for Blanchfield, she will not suffer financially from the cancellation.

The UFC confirmed that Blanchfield would receive both her show money and her win bonus despite the fight being called off.

Her manager, Oren Hodak of KO Reps, verified this information, having initially shared news of her payment on social media.

This outcome is the best possible under the circumstances, especially considering Barber withdrew at the last minute after also missing weight by half a pound the previous day. Barber missing weight resulted in a forfeiture of 20% of her own purse.

While Blanchfield clearly would have preferred to compete on Saturday, receiving her full pay allows her to recover from her full training camp and prepare for her next booking without financial pressure.

Immediately following the cancellation, Blanchfield stated she has no interest in rescheduling a fight against Barber, but remains focused on securing a top-ranked opponent for her next octagon appearance.

“No, I would not want to book another fight with her,” Blanchfield commented during the post-fight press conference. “I need to reassess and see who is available.”

She added, “I still aim to fight within the top five and continue pushing towards a title shot. I`ll discuss the possibilities with my manager and [UFC matchmaker] Mick Maynard.”

Blanchfield`s recent victory over former UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas positions her as a leading contender for the flyweight title, currently held by Valentina Shevchenko, who recently defeated Manon Fiorot at UFC 315 in May.
