This situation is not only frustrating for Aspinall, who holds the record as the longest-reigning interim UFC champion, but it`s clearly wearing on the fanbase as well.
The discussion surrounding Jones`s somewhat contentious title status was reignited on Monday when he responded to fans on Twitter. He stated he communicated his plans to the UFC “a long time ago” and expressed indifference about potentially being stripped of the title. Predictably, this stance was not well-received by fans eager to see the reigning champion face the interim titleholder to unify the belt.
