Drama seems to follow Nate Diaz wherever he goes.
The popular fighter`s recent activities took him to Thailand to shoot a reality series similar to The Ultimate Fighter, featuring UFC heavyweight king Jon Jones. Regrettably, production collapsed on the very first day after Diaz became involved in an altercation with a participant, escalating into a fight that halted filming.
Nate Diaz recently shared behind-the-scenes footage from his trip to Thailand via a vlog on his YouTube channel. The video documented his initial encounter with Jon Jones and the subsequent fight.
In a pre-show interview alongside Jones, Diaz remarked, “I don’t know… I don’t know what I got myself into. I just arrived, and they were already clashing. Having been on The Ultimate Fighter, I figured it would be quite intense.”
While the altercation didn`t cause serious injuries, it marked the end of the production for Diaz and his crew. They left the show and proceeded with their travels in Thailand before visiting Hong Kong.
Speaking briefly about the event, Diaz conveyed his disappointment and suggested others provoked him.
Diaz stated, “I came out here to do a small reality show with Jon Jones… I was hoping to hang out with Jones and his team and everyone, but it didn`t work out because they were the opponents. We aren`t messing with any of those Russians. Regardless, they aren`t messing with me, so that`s how it is.”
Diaz, who turned 40 in April, is currently taking a break from fighting while he decides his next step. His last appearance in the UFC was in September 2022, where he secured a submission victory against Tony Ferguson in his final contracted bout before moving into professional boxing.
In his boxing debut, Diaz was defeated by Jake Paul via unanimous decision. However, he bounced back with a decision victory over former UFC peer Jorge Masvidal in July.
