Despite the desire for freedom, fulfilling his existing six-fight contract was a matter of principle, ensuring he left the promotion “through the front door.”
## The UFC Dream Realized
After completing his contractual obligations, Buchecha still had to endure an eight-month matching period, a common clause allowing the previous promotion a chance to re-sign. However, his sights were set elsewhere. The ultimate goal, his dream promotion, was the UFC.
Upon finally securing his release and signing with the global leader in MMA, the relief was palpable. The promise of regular activity within the UFC structure was a stark and welcome contrast to the recent past. “Now [I`m] free and ready for the new challenges,” he remarked, highlighting the absence of backstage stress that previously plagued him.
## A Significant Octagon Debut
Buchecha`s UFC debut is scheduled for July 26th in Abu Dhabi, a city where he has achieved significant grappling success. He is set to face Martin Buday, a seasoned and ranked heavyweight with a respectable 6-1 record in the UFC.
Acknowledging Buday`s experience and toughness, Buchecha views the matchup as the biggest challenge of his MMA career to date.
