Hearn Responds to Paul’s Joshua Callout

Eddie Hearn, chairman of Matchroom Boxing, has reacted to Jake Paul`s recent challenge to Anthony Joshua. Paul stated he would “f*cking beat Anthony Joshua`s ass,” raising eyebrows in the boxing world.

Joshua, a former two-time heavyweight champion, is looking for his next significant fight after his recent victory over Daniel Dubois. Hearn suggests that if Paul is serious about a fight with Joshua, they are open to discussions.

“Honestly, I see a fight between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua as something we would consider for entertainment value,” Hearn mentioned on Matchroom Boxing’s YouTube channel. He added, “A.J. would box Jake Paul. He’s willing to fight anyone, to be honest. If Jake Paul is serious about stepping into the ring with Anthony Joshua, he will need to ensure he has proper insurance.”

Hearn found Paul`s mention of 2026 for the fight somewhat strange, suggesting it should happen sooner if Paul is serious. Hearn mentioned that Joshua is aware of Paul`s comments and is open to the idea of the fight.

Jake Paul, originally known as a YouTuber and social media personality, has become a prominent figure in boxing. He is seeking another high-profile fight after his upcoming match with Mike Tyson. Paul`s events have attracted significant viewership and mainstream attention, particularly his upcoming fight which will be streamed on Netflix.

Hearn indicated he is happy to work with Paul, and believes Joshua would also be willing. He acknowledged the large events Paul creates, bringing in substantial viewership, and views a potential fight against Paul as a relatively straightforward task for Joshua. Hearn also noted Paul`s calls for fights against established boxers like Canelo Alvarez, placing Joshua in a similar category of challenge.

While Joshua hasn`t directly responded to Paul’s challenge, Hearn is currently acting as his representative. Hearn conveyed that Joshua is ready to fight anyone, including Paul, and is eager to get back in the ring.

According to Hearn, Joshua’s response to the potential fight was, “Why not?” Hearn further stated, “When I asked him what he wanted me to say when questioned about it, Joshua told me to tell everyone he’s ready to fight anyone, anytime, and it’s not an issue for him.”
