World No. 10 Holger Rune has explained his withdrawal from the ATP 500 tournament in Hamburg.
The Danish player posted on social media: “Hi everyone! After Rome, I underwent many tests in Denmark as I haven`t been feeling well for a while. It turned out that the throat infection, which antibiotics didn`t fully clear up in Indian Wells, is still present, plus I have a stomach infection. I`m now on strong antibiotics and can`t wait to feel better. The good news is that otherwise, I`m healthy. The spring season was tough, but I`m eager to return to the court at full strength. Thank you for being with me through good and difficult times.”
