Michael Bisping remains very active in the fight world, but don`t expect him to return to the cage to fight anytime soon.
This clarification seems necessary on April Fool’s Day, as Bisping’s former promotion, Cage Warriors, jokingly announced that the former middleweight champion is ending his retirement to challenge middleweight champion Dario Bellandi.
Of course, this announcement was simply an April Fool’s joke, a common occurrence in sports news, and combat sports are no exception. Several fighters joined in the fun, with boxing star Tyson Fury claiming he is taking over the James Bond role from Daniel Craig, and Ben Askren also announcing his comeback—to collegiate wrestling at the age of 40 to compete for the University of Iowa.
