Islam Youssef made an explosive debut in the PFL, delivering a memorable knockout to start his run with the promotion.
During the PFL MENA bantamweight quarterfinals on Friday, Youssef executed a spectacular flying kick that connected with Benyamin Ghahreman. The fight was stopped at 3:56 in the second round.
After Ghahreman was pushed towards the cage, he attempted to pivot away but inadvertently turned directly into Youssef`s perfectly timed aerial strike. The kick landed cleanly, dropping Ghahreman. Youssef followed up with several hammer fists before the referee officially waved off the contest.
Despite missing the bantamweight limit, officially weighing in at 137.3 pounds on Thursday, Youssef`s victory ensures his advancement to the semifinals of the PFL MENA 135-pound tournament.
This win boosts Youssef`s professional mixed martial arts record to 6-2. He is now on a five-fight winning streak, dating back to his most recent loss in 2021.
