Jack Draper on Madrid Blackout: I Liked It. It’s So Nice Without Phones and Other Nonsense Happening in the World

World number six Jack Draper commented on the power outage that occurred during the tournament in Madrid. Yesterday`s play was suspended due to widespread issues affecting not only Spain but several other European countries.

“I actually liked it,” Draper said. “I`m a bit of a minimalist. It`s actually so nice when there are no phones and other nonsense happening in the world. You just try to focus on what`s important.”

“I ended up reading about 10 pages of a book. I don`t normally read at all, so that was interesting,” he added, speaking in a court interview after Matteo Berrettini`s retirement from their match.
