Anticipation is building for the upcoming boxing match between Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The two are scheduled to compete in a 10-round cruiserweight bout this Saturday, held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Leading up to the significant fight, Paul and Chavez Jr., along with other athletes featured on the card, participated in the pre-fight press conference on Thursday. While the conference itself may not have been highly dramatic, it did provide the first direct faceoff between the two main event fighters.
This marks Jake Paul`s first appearance in the ring since his highly publicized fight against Mike Tyson last November. Paul comes into this bout on a five-fight winning streak and aims to prove himself against more established professional boxers.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the son of the legendary boxing Hall of Famer and a former WBC titleholder himself, boasts extensive professional experience with 62 fights. He is currently riding a two-fight winning streak, with his most recent victory being a unanimous decision over former UFC fighter Uriah Hall in July.
The fight card also includes the return of decorated boxing Hall of Famer and former UFC champion Holly Holm to the sport of boxing. This will be Holm`s first boxing match since 2013, as she takes on professional boxer Yolanda Vega, who holds a record of 10 wins and 1 loss.
Now aged 43, Holm achieved considerable success in her boxing career before transitioning to MMA, securing 16 titles across three different weight classes. Her most recent combat sports appearance was a loss via submission to Kayla Harrison in the second round at UFC 300.
