World No. 1 Italian Jannik Sinner is officially cleared to return to competition after his three-month suspension for an anti-doping rule violation concluded today, May 5th.
Sinner, the reigning Australian Open champion (his only Grand Slam title), is set to make his comeback this week at the Rome Masters tournament, which begins on May 7th. Today, May 5th, the Italian is scheduled to hold his first official practice session on the courts of the Rome tennis center.
He returns to the ATP Tour maintaining his position as World No. 1, holding a significant lead of over 1500 points over the second-ranked player. His appearance at the Rome Masters will be only his second tournament of the year, following his victorious campaign in Melbourne.
