Veteran MMA fighter Jared Gooden has officially announced his retirement from the sport.
After a decade-long career and 34 professional fights, including two stints in the UFC, the 31-year-old Gooden shared his decision on social media. His retirement comes after his recent fight against Mahamed Aly at a Shogun Fights event.
In his announcement, Gooden explained that he is stepping away because he no longer has the same passion for fighting that he once did. He expressed gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout his journey.
Gooden also mentioned his desire to dedicate more time to raising his daughter and explore new opportunities outside of fighting.
Known as “Nite Train,” Gooden had a mixed record in the UFC, with two wins and five losses across his two runs with the promotion. He initially entered the UFC in 2020, and after a brief departure in 2021, he returned in 2023. His UFC highlights include a knockout victory over Niklas Stoltze and a submission win against Wellington Turman.
Jared Gooden retires with a professional MMA record of 23 wins and 11 losses.
