Jared Gordon Puts Thiago Moises to Sleep with Devastating Knockout at UFC Vegas 106

Jared Gordon, having recently experienced frustratingly close decision losses, bypassed the judges entirely with a spectacular first-round knockout victory at UFC Vegas 106.

Following some initial exchanges, including ground work against Thiago Moises, the New York veteran unleashed a perfectly timed right hand. This devastating blow floored the Brazilian, sending him crashing to the mat. Instantly, Gordon followed up with powerful ground strikes, rendering Moises unconscious before the referee could intervene to halt the contest.

The official time of the stoppage was 3:37 of the first round.

“I was a little hesitant because I thought he would shoot for the takedown right away,” Gordon commented after the fight. “I knew my boxing was better. I caught him coming in and got the knockout.”

Despite facing a highly regarded grappler in Moises, Gordon showed confidence engaging on the ground early on. However, Moises did connect with a strike during these exchanges, opening a cut on Gordon`s forehead.

Fortunately, the cut didn`t cause significant bleeding, allowing Gordon to continue his ground control until Moises managed to return to his feet. This proved detrimental for Moises, as Gordon immediately landed the decisive right hand that visibly spun Moises` head and sent him crashing back to the canvas.

Moises was unable to recover, as Gordon swiftly followed up with several more heavy punches on the ground, rendering Moises unconscious and prompting the referee to step in and prevent further damage.

Gordon feels his recent record doesn`t reflect his performance, citing controversial decision losses to Paddy Pimblett and Nasrat Haqparast. This emphatic knockout victory over Moises at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday ensures the outcome was undeniable, adding a significant finish to his career highlights.
