Famous UFC champion Jon Jones is partnering with Mike Perry.
Dirty Boxing Championship announced on Friday that Jon Jones, the current UFC heavyweight champion and a legend in light heavyweight, has become a co-owner of the combat sports league. This news was initially reported by TMZ.
Jones stated in the announcement, “I was immediately captivated by the first event. I believe this organization has the potential to become a major force in combat sports, and I am honored to be a part of it.”
This move also strengthens Jones` professional relationship with managers Malki and Abe Kawa, who, along with Perry, established Dirty Boxing in 2024. Dirty Boxing events feature fighters using five-ounce gloves and include elbows and limited ground strikes in their rules.
The next Dirty Boxing event is scheduled for Saturday, with a main event featuring former UFC middleweight title contender Yoel Romero against Ras Hylton in a heavyweight match. The co-main event will see former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski facing Terrance Hodges.
Jones is expected to attend Saturday`s event in Miami.
Jones` UFC career is currently paused as fans await his decision on a potential fight with interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall. Jones has previously dismissed Aspinall as a worthy opponent, expressing more interest in a fight with Alex Pereira, who recently lost his light heavyweight title to Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 313.
