World No. 2 Coco Gauff commented on Aryna Sabalenka`s remarks made after their French Open final match, which Gauff won with a score of 6/7(5), 6/2, 6/4. During the post-match press conference, the Belarusian player called this final the worst of her life and also noted that Iga Świątek would have won the title if she were in Sabalenka`s position.
Speaking on Good Morning America, Gauff said: “I was a little bit surprised by the comments and the whole situation, but you can justify it. It was definitely an emotional day and an emotional match. I know she was probably upset after the match, it was a tough loss.”
