UFC middleweight fighter Marvin Vettori and his family are experiencing a devastating tragedy.
On Tuesday, Vettori announced the passing of his 29-year-old brother, Patrick. Reports from Italian MMA journalist Al Zullino indicate that Patrick tragically died in an accidental fire at his home.
Vettori shared a heartfelt message, translated by Zullino, expressing his deep sorrow:
“You were and always will be my number one, my little brother.
You`ve left a void that can never be filled, and my love for you will last until my dying day.
I don`t think I will ever be the same after this. I may not have said it enough, but you were always my strength.
You were the smarter and wiser one between us. You were building a wonderful future, and I am struggling to accept this.
They say that Jesus calls the most beautiful souls to heaven, and I truly hope it`s true – that you are there with Him, watching over us with your characteristic kindness.
I love you, my brother. And while life without you will be incredibly difficult, I find some comfort in knowing that one day I will be laid to rest beside you.
I love you.”
Many members of the MMA community, including Megan Olivi, Manel Kape, Clay Guida, and Austin Vanderford, have offered their condolences on Marvin`s post.
Marvin Vettori, 31, is a prominent UFC middleweight contender who has consistently ranked in the top 10. Recently, he faced Roman Dolidze in a rematch, losing by unanimous decision and bringing his UFC record to 9 wins, 6 losses, and 1 draw.
