Mateusz Gamrot`s initial fight for 2025 has been officially scheduled.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced on Thursday that Gamrot (holding a professional record of 24-3, 1 NC) is slated to face Ludovit Klein (23-4-1) in a lightweight contenders` matchup. The fight is scheduled to take place at UFC Vegas 107 on May 31st.
This encounter represents a significant opportunity for Gamrot, who is currently ranked No. 10 in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings (tied with Rafael Fiziev). He had previously hinted at a fight announcement for several months, with speculation linking him to various notable names in his division. The 34-year-old is coming off a split decision defeat to Dan Hooker at UFC 305 last August, which snapped a three-fight winning streak. Gamrot, a former two-division champion in KSW, holds a UFC record of 7 wins and 3 losses since joining the promotion in 2020.
Klein, aged 30, has the chance to significantly climb the rankings if he can secure a victory over Gamrot. After starting his UFC career with a 1-2 record, Klein moved from the featherweight division to lightweight. Since moving up, he has compiled an impressive 6-0-1 record, winning his last four fights. His most recent outing in September saw him earn a unanimous decision win against Roosevelt Roberts.
UFC Vegas 107 is expected to be headlined by a bout featuring top flyweight contenders Erin Blanchfield and Maycee Barber.
