Retired UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping is set to take on a leading role in the upcoming crime thriller, `Atlas King,` directed by Nika Agiashvili. This marks another significant acting venture for Bisping following his successful MMA career.
In `Atlas King,` Bisping will star alongside George Finn. The film is described as a `gritty thriller` and is being produced by Storyman Pictures. It is anticipated to be presented to potential distributors at the Cannes Market, a part of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
According to reports, `Atlas King` will see Bisping portray a seasoned ex-fighter who returns to his town after years away to attend his best friend`s funeral and settle unresolved issues. He forms an uneasy alliance with his godson (Finn), a local enforcer entangled with a criminal organization. Together, they devise a high-stakes heist to break free from the control of a ruthless mob boss.
Bisping`s acting portfolio includes roles in notable projects such as the upcoming `Red Sonja` adaptation, slated for release in late 2025. He has also appeared in the `Twin Peaks` revival, `XXX: The Return of Xander Cage,` and both `Den of Thieves` and `Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.`
Bisping conveyed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Nika and his team. The script grabbed me from the beginning.”
Production for `Atlas King` is scheduled to commence this summer, with filming locations set in downtown Los Angeles.
