Following his defeat to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314, Michael Chandler has spoken out. He left the octagon before the official announcement but addressed the loss in a social media statement on Monday.
Chandler, a former UFC title contender, was stopped in the third round after Pimblett took him down and finished the fight with strikes. This loss marks Chandler`s third consecutive defeat and brings his UFC record to 2-5.
While Chandler didn`t directly comment on Pimblett or the fight itself, his message emphasized that family is his priority, even after this UFC setback.
In his Twitter post, Chandler wrote, “Never out of the fight. This picture sums it all up. As long as I’ve got these heartbeats and hands to hold, I’ve already won.”
The accompanying photo, taken by his wife Brie, showed Chandler holding hands with his son who attended the event. He also returned home to his newborn daughter, who was born shortly before his fight.
As a father of three, Chandler highlighted that his family remains his top priority, which is his main takeaway from the fight night.
Regarding his future career, Chandler has not yet discussed his next steps after this loss to Pimblett.
Despite the defeat, UFC CEO Dana White praised Chandler`s resilience and commitment to exciting fights, comparing him to boxing legend Arturo Gatti.
