Mirra Andreeva to Move to Seventh Position in WTA Ranking

17-year-old Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva, currently ranked sixth in the world, is set to move down to seventh place in the WTA rankings in the next update. During the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami, Andreeva was surpassed by Italian Jasmine Paolini, the world number seven, who continues her run to the semi-finals.

Seeded 11th in Miami, Andreeva was defeated in the third round by American Amanda Anisimova, ranked 17th in the world, with a score of 6-7(5), 6-2, 3-6. In the quarter-finals, Paolini defeated Magda Linette from Poland, ranked 34th in the world, with a score of 6-3, 6-2.

Aryna Sabalenka commented on Mirra Andreeva`s unsuccessful performance in Miami as predictable.
