An MMA cage was the cause of an unusual defeat.
During an Anthony Pettis FC event in Milwaukee on Sunday, a lightweight fighter, Kurtis Ellis, lost his match in a very strange way. He had to verbally submit because his finger got stuck in the cage.
This bizarre submission happened in the third round when Ellis` opponent, Brandon Evans, was pushing him against the cage. Throughout the fight, Evans had been using this tactic. This time, Ellis tried to defend himself by placing his hand on the cage, but unfortunately, his finger became trapped in the fence and he couldn`t free it.
Ellis was heard yelling in pain that his finger was stuck. The referee, Tom Develice, stopped the fight and declared Evans the winner by verbal submission.
Anthony Pettis, the founder of APFC, reacted to the ending with a simple “Wtf.”
