Muhammad Mokaev has found his opponent for his first appearance in Karate Combat.
The former prominent UFC flyweight contender is scheduled to compete against Bolat Zamanbekov on May 2nd in Dubai, as confirmed by promotion officials to MMA Fighting on Thursday. This bantamweight match is set as the co-main event and will consist of three three-minute rounds under Karate Combat regulations.
Karate Combat 54 is anticipated to be headlined by a heavyweight showdown between champion Sam Alvey and Tyrone Spong.
Considered a top flyweight in MMA, Mokaev achieved a 7-0 record in the UFC, securing notable victories over Manel Kape, Alex Perez, and Tim Elliott. He parted ways with the UFC this past July. In December, he quickly defeated Joevincent So in his return to Brave CF, improving his professional record to 13-0.
Zamanbekov`s MMA record stands at 8-3. His most recent fight resulted in a submission loss to Avazbek Kholmirzaev at ONE Championship in February. Prior to competing in ONE, the Kazakhstani fighter won eight out of nine MMA fights.
