World No. 11 Lorenzo Musetti shared his assessment of Jack Draper`s performance following their semifinal clash at the Madrid Masters, where Draper defeated Musetti 3-6, 6-7(4).
Musetti highlighted Draper`s diverse skills. “He is a very versatile player, and that`s what impresses me the most,” Musetti stated in his post-match press conference. “Also impressive is how he defends from the baseline despite being so tall. He is very high and can serve exceptionally well.”
He added that Draper`s game can be particularly challenging for players using a one-handed backhand due to his ability to “open up the angles.”
Reflecting on their specific match, Musetti commented, “Everything worked really well for him today. The end was very tight. He started impressively, but then I managed to get closer to his level.”
