24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic spoke about a challenging phase in his career, noting that he hasn`t won a match since the Miami Masters in March.

Q: The recent months have been tough for you. How are you navigating this new phase of your career?

Djokovic: This feels like a new chapter in my life. I am trying to embrace these new circumstances. I`m not accustomed to situations like two consecutive first-round losses, such as those in Monte Carlo and Madrid. It feels like this hasn`t occurred for me in about 20 years. However, I was aware that a phase like this might eventually come.

It`s challenging for me to just sit back and contemplate my career achievements. While I am certainly proud of them, the desire to win the biggest trophies, to compete for Grand Slam titles, and to be among the top players in the world is still very much present. That`s precisely why I am here in Geneva, working diligently to continue winning titles. My motivation remains high.

During this transitional period, I need to understand my body better and figure out what`s required to maintain health while staying in peak form to perform my best at the Majors. Although I aim to give my absolute maximum whenever I compete, Grand Slam tournaments continue to be my ultimate priority.

Q: How have you managed stress throughout your many years in the sport?

Djokovic: It`s inherently part of our profession. As Billie Jean King wisely put it, `Pressure is a privilege.` It signifies that what we do holds importance. I can consistently rely on the support of my loved ones; without them, maintaining the necessary balance would be impossible. I am well aware of what is required to win Slams and remain at the pinnacle. This carries immense responsibility. It`s definitely not as effortless and straightforward as it was when I was starting out.

My life has undoubtedly changed, mostly for the better. I still feel I possess the necessary game to be a strong contender for Grand Slam titles, which remains a significant source of motivation for me. Naturally, I experience more fluctuations now – more ups and downs – something that`s been evident over the past eighteen months or so. While navigating this isn`t particularly enjoyable, it`s the current reality, and I must accept it. Perhaps I can no longer maintain the same consistent level of play. No, not `perhaps` – I certainly cannot. I understand that. However, simultaneously, I know how to effectively set my priorities.
