World No. 9 Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa was asked what guidance she would offer her younger self.
`To little Paula, I would tell her: `Treat everything as a game, because one day it won`t be anymore.` I`ve reflected on this a lot. How did I spend my childhood? I was hard on myself, but I don`t regret anything. And now I`ve finally understood that difficulties should be accepted calmly,` Badosa stated.
The 27-year-old Badosa is a former world No. 2 and has won four WTA singles titles. She recently withdrew from the Miami Open after defeating Clara Tauson 6-3, 7-6(3) in the third round, citing a back injury. The injury forced her to pull out of her scheduled fourth-round match against Alexandra Eala.
