The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has once again cancelled a scheduled event in Paris, France. This time, the promotion has called off the card that was planned for May 23rd.

PFL announced the decision on Thursday morning, although they did not provide a specific reason for the cancellation. In their statement, the promotion referred to the event as being “rescheduled” and confirmed that tickets would be refunded. However, no new date for the Paris card was mentioned.

This is not the first time PFL (or one of its properties) has faced scheduling issues in the French capital. The statement about rescheduling echoes a previous announcement regarding a Bellator Paris event (now owned by PFL) which was also said to be “rescheduled for later dates”.

The cancelled Paris card was notably expected to mark the mixed martial arts debut of former French national football team captain and Manchester United player, Patrice Evra. The event was cancelled before an opponent for Evra had even been publicly named.

The planned main event for PFL Paris featured a lightweight bout between local fighter Mansour Barnaoui and Archie Colgan. The MMA promotion has not yet announced if any of the fights originally scheduled for this event, including the PFL Europe bantamweight division bouts, will be moved to other upcoming fight cards.
